There have been a lot of questions publicly regarding a situation that supposedly occurred at a school within the Cherokee County Schools System – the Cherokee County Board of Education has declined to release any additional information regarding the situation at this time.
During Tuesday’s meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Education – Superintendent of Education Mitchell Guice made the following statement:
We will be providing additional information when more details are available.
In other business, the Board approved the minutes from their December meeting, received the accounts payable for the month of November and received the Bank Reconciliation, Cash Balance and Financial Report for November.
The Board also received for review the proposed addition to the Illness During School Day Section in the 2019-2020 Student Handbook Code of Conduct. Also approved was and Energy Savings Contract Addendum in addition to the 2020 Energy Savings Budget for Cedar Bluff School.
An agreement with Auburn University for 21st Century Community Learning Center Program Evaluation at Cedar Bluff School was also approved.
The next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Education is set for February, 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Board Office in Centre.
