Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Will Host ‘Grant Writing For Beginners’

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism is set to host a Grant Writing for Beginners class coming up on Thursday, July 16th from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Chamber Office.

If you need grant funding for your worthy cause, but don’t know where to begin – this Workshop is for you.

Laure Clemons, Extended Family Executive Director, will share tools she has used to raise over $400,000 through grants and other funding sources. Attendees are encouraged to bring laptops and grant applications they would like to file. Workshop limited to 15 attendees.

In Grant Writing for Beginners you will learn

  • How to find the grant application that is right for you
  • Ways to maximize “matching” grants
  • How to create a budget now that you can use for grant applications later
  • Why research is important to grantors, and how to easily compile your own
  • How your “projected outcomes” can help you get the grant
  • Ways to prepare a grant report that will help you get the next grant
  • Simple fundraising methods beyond grant writing that really work

” As Executive Director of Extended Family, I’ve raised over $400,000 through grant writing and funding sources for our non-profit organization. The Grant Writing for Beginners Workshop includes essential tips and tools for successful grant writing. I created this Workshop so you can have what I needed in the beginning – proven, grant-writing tools wrapped into one, simple kit. With this tool kit you can be equally successful in obtaining grants for your worthy cause.” Laure Clemons
