Money could be waiting for you at the Cherokee County Circuit Clerk’s Office.

Circuit Clerk Dwayne Amos took the opportunity to visit WEIS recently to talk about unclaimed funds that the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Alabama has been unable to get to it’s recipients.

As Mr. Amos mentioned to us, these unclaimed monies come in the form of restitution related to criminal and civil judgements, and can come about in many forms, whether you were considered the plaintiff or defendant in these cases.

One of the biggest issues for the Clerk’s office when trying to find the people these payments are meant to go out to, is actually locating former residents or business owners.

The best way to find out if you are one of the recipients of unclaimed funds is to visit the Cherokee County Circuit Court website at cherokee.alacourt.gov.
