Cherokee County Commission Approves Hazardous Duty For Deputies And Corrections Staff

The Cherokee County Commission held a brief meeting via Facebook Live on Monday evening.

At the recommendation of Sheriff Jeff Shaver, the commission adopted a resolution approving hazardous duty pay for deputies and corrections officers, the pay will be funded by the Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Funds. Chairman Burgess stated that this temporary hazardous duty pay in the amount of $50 per week for the next 12 weeks and will not be funded through the general fund but instead will some from the sheriff’s Law Enforcement Fund.

The commission approved an excess land redemption in the amount of $197.11 to Daniel St. Clair. Also approved was a list of declared of surplus items from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department to be sold at the next available public auction.
