Monday’s Cherokee County Commission meeting centered around safety issues, both inside the Administration Building and in the schools.
Commission members approved a proposal from “Central” Fire Protection, Inc., to replace a number of smoke detectors in the admin building at a total of cost of $1,040. A proposal for IBM System Hardware and Software Maintenance (with Vertical VAR) was also approved to ensure that any potential issues with the county computer system will be given top priority should any problems arise. That annual contract comes to an amount of $3,680.
The Commission also approved renewal of the agreement with the Cherokee County Board of Education for School Resource Officers for the period of August, 2016 through May, 2017
In other business, Connie Coley was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Rebecca Clayton – ending April of 2017 – on the CED Mental Health Board while Doug Ford was appointed to the Board for the term ending in April of 2021.
The next regular meeting for the Cherokee County Commission is set for Monday, July 25th, at 5:00pm in the County Administration Building in Centre.
