The Cherokee County Commission held their regular meeting on Monday evening with a routine agenda.
They approved two excess land redemptions to Larry Teague in addition to approving a list of equipment from the highway department as surplus property to be sold at the next available public auction and a list of vehicles and equipment from the sheriff’s office as surplus to be sold at the next available public auction.
Also approved was an agreement with the East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission for non-urbanized area public transportation with a local match of $17, 198.00.
A contract was approved with the Probate Office for use of the Gadsden State Community College Arena for election school and a Proclamation was adopted recognizing June 15 as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
The Commission then dismissed into an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the Purchase of Sale of Property which is a valid reason under Alabama Code.
The next regular Cherokee County Commission meeting will be Monday, July 13 at 10:00 a.m.
