The Cherokee County Commission held their regular meeting on Monday morning – an appointment was made to the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association to serve a two-year term ending September 22. Daphne Rogers was reappointed to fill that seat.
Excess land redemption in the amount of $897.99 was approved to Reba Ray.
A long-term detention subsidy contract with the Alabama department of Youth Services for the period of October, 1 2020 through September 30, 2021 was approved.
A contract agreement for the Saving Teens At-Risk (STAR Program) was also approved in the amount of $200,784.00.
The ADECA, Law Enforcement and Traffic Safety Division, grant in the amount of $24,000 was approved.
Annual Highway Department bids were approved as presented by County Engineer Corey Chambers.
A bid was awarded to Sand Mountain Pest Control for services for the period October 1, 2020 – September 30, 2021.
A 2014 Chevy Tahoe was also declared as surplus and approved to be sold to the Chattooga County, Georgia Sheriff’s Department.
The Commission did enter into a Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the “Purchase or sale of property”.
