The Cherokee County Commission held their regular meeting on Monday evening.
Items approved included the appointment of Wae Ellis to the Cherokee County Water and Sewer Authority to fill a six-year term ending February 2027. They also approved the hiring of Shauni Barrier as a Library Assistant and Sarah Hanners as Accounts Payable Clerk.
In other business, the Commission approved the Senior Community Service Employment Program Host Agency agreement with the East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission.
A lease agreement was approved with Lease Servicing Center, Inc. for the purchase of two Mack chassis trucks with 14’ ox body.
Highway Department bids for bituminous surface treatments, hot mix asphalt paving and micro surfacing seal coat were approved as presented by County Engineer Corey Chambers.
The next Cherokee County Commission meeting will take place on Monday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. in the County Administrative Center.
