Cherokee County Commission Meeting Monday, October 25, 2021

It was a brief meeting for the Cherokee County Commission on Monday.

Commissioner Carlton Teague presided over the meeting in the absence of Chairman Tim Burgress.

The Commission approved to eliminate one deputy position at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and replace it with the position of a Warrants Clerk.

They also approved to renew an agreement for Pest Control services with Sand Mountain Pest Management, LLC for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.

The Fiscal Year 2022 agreement for forensics services, consultation and education with JSU in the amount of $2,500.00 was also approved.

Randy Patterson was approved for hire as a Highway Maintenance Tech at the Highway Department.

An agreement with Terracon Consultants was also approved to provide Geotechnical Engineering services for the Cherokee County Courthouse project in the amount of $7,700.

An application for group insurance with Sun Life Financial Assurance Company was also approved.

The next Cherokee County Commission meeting will be Monday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m.
