Cherokee County Commission Recognizes Chamber Of Commerce Week

During the regular meeting of the Cherokee County Commission on Tuesday, the Commission recognized Executive Director Theresa Hulgan and Joy Perry with the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce as part of Chamber of Commerce week coming up October 19 – October 23rd. 

Also during the meeting, the commission voted to appoint Probate Judge/Commission Chairman Tim Burgess and Luanne Hayes to the District Policy Committee for the East Alabama Rural Planning Organization.

The county has also agreed to join the National Purchasing Cooperatives, Sourcewell and BuyBoard.

A motion was approved to lower the speed limit on County Road 574 from 45 to 25 mph in District #2.

A resolution was approved with ALDOT concerning the maintenance of the existing portions of U.S. Highway 411 after the completion of the widening and four-laning.

Other items approved included; 

Approve an amendment to an agreement dated November 7, 2017 between Pictometry International Corporation and Cherokee County, AL for a three year agreement total of $196,128 and authorize the Chairman and/or Revenue Commissioner to sign. 
 
Approve to refund Excess Land funds to Rodney and Jeanette Jones in the amount of $28.67, per the attached request from the Revenue Commissioner.
