The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has now reached 7,888 – with a total of 290 confirmed deaths resulting from the illness.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health – a total of 1,043 individuals have been hospitalized thus far, and the number tested stands at 91,933.
Cherokee County currently has 16 confirmed cases out of 303 people having been tested; in DeKalb County there’ve been 79 positive results out of the 1,093 tests administered there; following 2,021 tests in Etowah County, there are 143 confirmed cases; and Calhoun County has 105 confirmed cases after a total of 1,628 people being tested.
