Cherokee County EMA Releases New Mobile App

The Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency is pleased to announce that they’ve officially released their new “mobile app”.  It’s an interactive mobile app designed to assist the citizens of, and visitors to, Cherokee County before, during, and after an emergency or disaster – whether natural or man made.

Director Shawn Rogers said that the app provides various features that strive to help keep the citizens of Cherokee County educated, prepared, and informed on all preparedness and protective measures.

Features include: National Weather Service Alerts, Be Prepared Alerts, Shelter Information, School Closings, Road Closings, Damage Reports, County Contacts and much more.

Although the EMA cannot always predict when emergencies or disasters will occur – every individual, family, business, and community must do their part to ensure they’re prepared.

The app can be downloaded free of charge on Android and Apple devices by going to the Google Play or App Store and searching Cherokee County EMA.  For Android users, this App will not show up at the top of the search list and you may have to scroll to the bottom of the list to locate it.

Director Rogers stated that this app wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Cherokee County Commission.

If you have questions or need assistance you can contact the EMA Office at (256) 927-3367.
