Cherokee County Investigator Matt Sims competed in the Arkansas State International Defensive Pistol Association championships in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
The International Defensive Pistol Association is a fast paced action shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. It was founded in 1996 as a response to the desires of shooters worldwide.
The organization now boasts membership of more than 20,000 people, including members in 50 foreign countries. Sims won the state championship in the custom defense pistol division using a Nighthawk Custom 45 ACP.
