Cherokee County Municipalities Swear In New Council Members/Mayors

Leesburg, Cedar Bluff and Gaylesville swore in new council members on Monday afternoon. In Leesburg Melissa Rodriguez was sworn in to the Place #5 Seat previously held by Cody Adams. The other seats will remain the same, Place #1 Frankie Brewster, Place #2 Joe Sonaty, Place #3 Jimmy Tillery and Place #4 Wayne Byram. Mayor Brandy Pierce will also serve another term.

In Centre, newly elected Mayor Mark Powell Mansfield was sworn in to begin his new term. The Centre City Council will look the same with the exception of new Councilman Jay Howell. The other Councilmembers will be Phillip Roberts, Don Cothran, Harry Moon, Frankie Kelly and Bess Yarbrough.

In Cedar Bluff, Mayor Tammy Crane was sworn in to serve another term in addition to a practically brand new council. Tim Miller retained his seat in District #1, Anna Grace was sworn in to serve in District #2, former Councilman Jack Bond will hold the seat for District #3, Angela Ritchie will serve District #4 and Leatha Harp will retain her seat in District #5.

In Gaylesville, Mayor Liz Stafford will serve another term followed by Daniel Steele in Place #1, Tommy Storey in Place #2, Gay Van Pelt in Place #3, Jean Watwood in Place #4 and April Givens in Place #5.

The administration in Sand Rock will be Mayor Gene Farmer and Councilmembers Brody Moses – Place #1, Julia C. Smith – Place #2, Jonathan Cash – Place #3, Greg Oliver – Place #4.

Cherokee County Probate Judge Tim Burgess administered the oath of office.
