Cherokee County Now Has Seven Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 / Statewide the Number Rises to 2,499

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has now reached 2,499 – with a total of 48 confirmed deaths resulting from the illness – according to the Alabama Department of Public Health. 

There are currently 69 reported deaths in Alabama with 21 remaining under investigation. 

314 people have been hospitalized and the number tested stands at 18,982.

Cherokee County has seven confirmed cases out of 64 tested; while in DeKalb County there have been 199 tested with 14 positive results; following 390 being tested in Etowah County there are 47 confirmed cases there and Calhoun County now has 52 confirmed cases after a total of 224 people being tested.
