Cherokee County Park Board Recognizes Camp Hosts For Outstanding Service

Thursday evening the Cherokee County Park Board presented Jeremy Morgan, Founder of Common Ground Act, for his outstanding service at Cherokee Rock Village Park for the past two years. Morgan donated all his labor to the Park Board and Cherokee Rock Village. He and his wife Kristie, kept the bathhouse cleaned, picked up trash, did most of the mowing, performed carpenter, electrical, plumbing and mechanical jobs, established a bird sanctuary, provided security and many other jobs.

Morgan told WEIS Radio News he was glad to donate his services  in honor of his late grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Morgan of Sand Rock and Mrs. Morgan’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Roden of Rodentown. He said he grew up in the area and this was his way of honoring them and giving back to the community.

Board Chair, LeAnn Hill, presented Morgan with certificates of appreciation for him and his wife and Board Treasurer, Jerry Baker, presented Morgan with a plaque recognizing him for his outstanding service to Cherokee Rock Village Park. The presentations were made during the Park employees Christmas Party held at Mountain Top Grill in Sand Rock.
