Cherokee County Pre-K Offers Advantages and Opportunities

It’s vitally important to make sure your child is being given all the essential tools that he, or she, needs to learn and grow as much as possible as early as possible, and that’s where First Class Pre-K comes in:

That’s Randy Smith, Pre-K Director for Cherokee County Schools.

He and Sarah Richardson, Pre-K Teacher at the Cherokee County Career & Tech Center paid a visit to WEIS Radio this week to discuss the many advantages and opportunities provided through the program:

The Pre-K classroom is developed around a research-based curriculum to meet the specific needs of four year olds.  The classroom not only is designed not only to meet physical needs but emotional and social needs as well.

Each day is planned to guide four year olds to intentionally learn specific skills.

Parents, remember “THE THREE T’s”

Tune in – Pay attention to your child

Talk more – Use descriptive words

Take turns – Engage in back and forth conversation with your child.

Registration continues through March 31st – all students must be residents of Alabama and must be four years of age on or before September 1st.

Required documents include a completed registration form, and later you’ll need a current utility bill as proof of Alabama residency and an immunization form will be required before the child enters school.
