Chairman’s Announcement: Randall Crabtree has tendered his resignation from the Cherokee County Parks and Recreation Board. The appointment to fill out his six-year unexpired term ending December 2027, will take place at the Monday, August 28th 2023 meeting. Submittal of resumes, letters, etc. will be accepted through Wednesday, August 23rd 2023 until the close of business in the County Commission Office.

Chairman’s Announcement: The appointment/reappointment of two positions (BOTH Seats 4 and 5) on the Cherokee County Department of Human Resources Board will take place at the Monday, September 11th, 2023 meeting. These are six-year terms that will end in September 2029. Submittal of resumes, letters, etc. will be accepted through Wednesday, September 6th, 2023, until the close of business in the County Commission
Office.

Accept the petition made to vacate a portion of County Road 60 (District 4) and also to set a public hearing on the matter for September 25th, 2023 at 5:00 PM.

Approve a long-term detention subsidy contract with Alabama Department of Youth Services for the period of October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024 and authorize the Chairman to sign.

Approve an agreement between the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts and the Cherokee County Commission for an audit of the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds and authorize the Chairman to sign.

Approve the FY 2024 County Transportation Plan for Cherokee County.

Approve an amended job description for Highway Maintenance
Technician 1.

Declare attached list of equipment from Highway Department as surplus to be disposed of or sold.

Approve to hire DeAnne Burt as a Probate Office Clerk (Grade 5, Step 1).

Nominate Michael Westbrook, Chad Stallings, and Kevin Green to the Cherokee County Board of Equalization with four-year terms beginning October 1, 2023.

Approve Airport Authority Grants PYP-SOG-3-01-0101-017-2023 and PYP-SOG-3-01-0101-018-2023 and also authorize the Chairman to sign.

Award bid for one (1) New Mobile Morgue Trailer to Trailers by Dale Sale, Inc. at a total price of $50,821.00.

Award bid for one (1) New 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD Crew Cab 147″ Work Truck to Donohoo Chevrolet LLC at a total price of $43,436.50.

Approve to hire Julian Bynum and Matthew McGee for HMT 1 positions (Grade 3, Step 1) at the Highway Department.
