The Cherokee County Board of Education along with representatives with McKee and Associates opened sealed bids on Tuesday afternoon for the construction of the new Centre Elementary School.

Representatives from each company that submitted a bid were also present during the very brief meeting.

The sealed bids were received on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. and were publicly opened and read aloud at the Cherokee County Board of Education Central Office.

Those that submitted bids were, Argo Building, Baggette Construction, Boatner Construction, First Team Construction and Forsyth Building Company.

Superintendent of Education Mitchell Guice said that the bid will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder during the next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Education October 2nd at 6pm in the Board Office.
