Cherokee County School Board Says Keep Your Children At Home If They Show Symptoms Of The Flu

Due to the rise in flu cases in Cherokee and surrounding counties the Cherokee County Board of Education is asking you to keep your children at home if they ran a fever or experienced diarrhea or vomiting in the last 24 hours.

Some signs and symptoms of flu are: cough, sore throat, fever, chills, runny nose, fatigue, headache, and body aches.

If your child is experiencing these symptoms please take them to the doctor to be tested for the flu as there are medications to help.

A student must be fever free for 24 hours without using Tylenol or Ibuprofen before returning to school.

Please remind your children the number one way to prevent the flu is good hand washing and the use of hand sanitizers when soap and water is not available.
