Cherokee County Schools in cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) are providing summer meals at no charge for children 18 years of age and younger

Breakfast and lunch meals will be served in the Cedar Bluff High School Cafeteria during the month of July.

Meals in Cedar Bluff begin on Monday, July 6 and continue through Thursday, July 30. The Cedar Bluff Cafeteria will be open Monday through Thursday each week in July with breakfast being served from 9:15-9:45 AM and lunch being served from 11:15 AM – 12:30 PM.

Children do not have to be students at Cedar Bluff or any other county school to participate in this program.

The program is designed to assist families in providing meals to their children through the summer months when school is not in session.

All meals must be eaten in the cafeteria during the times given and only one meal may be served per child at no charge.

These regulations are USDA requirements and must be followed in order for our system to participate in this program and to offer meals at no charge to anyone 18 and under as well as to individuals with special needs. Adult visitors may eat breakfast in July for $2.00 and they may eat lunch for $4.00.

Summer menus are posted at www.cherokeek12.org under “Calendars.” Please direct any questions you may have about the summer feeding program to Christina Lee, Child Nutrition Program Director for Cherokee County Schools. She may be reached at 256-927-3397 or at clee@cherokeek12.org.
