Cherokee County Schools Will be Back in Session Monday, August 9th; BOE Officials Discuss Return to the Classroom

Classes will resume on Monday, August 9th for all Cherokee County Schools, and with that in mind, Morning Show Host Jerry Baker recently welcomed into the WEIS Radio studios, Laura Browder and Jennifer Mackey with the Board of Education.

They discussed current plans for returning to the classroom, and offered advice to all the parents and children in the system concerning proper motivation:

A very big part of success is often simply a matter of using a common-sense approach and keeping an open line of communication with your children in regard to setting of goals and developing good habits at an early age:

Again, Cherokee County schools will be back in session Monday, August 9th – and, for surrounding areas, the first day of school will be as follows:

  • DeKalb County – Friday, August 6th
  • Calhoun County – Monday, August 9th
  • Ft Payne City – Tuesday, August 10th
  • Piedmont City – Wednesday, August 11th
  • Etowah County and Gadsden City – Thursday, August 12th
  • Jacksonville State University – August 18th
  • The Cherokee Campus of Gadsden State – August

Also, during these dates – and at ALL TIMES – exercise extreme caution in School Zones and watch for children – make safety the TOP PRIORITY
