Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver has announced his plans to seek re-election in the 2018 election cycle. Although qualifying is a few months away Sheriff Shaver wanted to announce his intentions and get his support base in place for the campaign.
Shaver told a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters last Thursday evening at the County Museum, he plans to continue to improve services to county residents. Recently he announced a satellite office for the department in Gaylesville. He said more would be forthcoming for the county. He said he feels his department is one of the best trained and most professional departments in Northeast Alabama.
He thanked the supporters and said he looks forward to continued service to the county.
