According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, 16 motivated ladies participated in the class that met one evening a week for a month. The training is hands-on that focuses on strikes, headlock escapes, and other self-defense techniques.

It also emphasizes situational awareness and residential security.

Sheriff Shaver stated, “Sgt. Estes is an excellent self-defense instructor, who coordinated the training and made the class a success.”
