Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Injured During A Firearms Training Exercise

A Cherokee County deputy was injured on Friday during a firearms training exercise at the firing range in Cedar Bluff.

The deputy was struck in the face by a fully intact bullet that ricocheted from a steel target.

The deputy was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released. Sheriff Shaver said, “We are thankful that he did not suffer serious injury and that he is okay.”
