Cherokee County volleyball team splits on senior night

CENTRE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors split a pair of volleyball matches on Tuesday against White Plains and Collinsville. It was the Lady Warriors’ senior night.

Cherokee County fell to White Plains 21-25, 25-19, 19-25 and 21-25, but rebounded to outlast Collinsville 26-24, 26-24.

In the loss to White Plains, AK Reyes posted 10 digs. Madison Leonard contributed 11 digs, a kill and an assist. Sarai Ray collected nine assists, four aces, two digs and a kill. Ella Garmany delivered nine digs and seven kills. Madeline Ware had four blocks, two kills and two digs.

Emilee Paul came away with two kills, two aces, a dig and a block. Kenzie Hunter had nine digs, eight assists, five kills and a block. Anna Walker finished with two kills, two aces, an assist and a dig.

In the win against Collinsville, Reyes and Leonard both posted four digs. Ray contributed six assists, three digs, two kills and an ace. Garmany collected 11 kills, seven digs, three blocks, an ace and an assist. Ware tallied two kills and a block.

Hunter added seven assists, four digs and an ace. Walker came away with four digs, three kills, a block and an ace. Vivian Connell finished with two blocks and a kill.
