The Cherokee County Warriors Golf Team Travels to the Briarmeade Invitational Tournament

In local sports, on Thursday (April 6th) the Cherokee County Warriors golf team traveled to the Briarmeade Invitational Tournament in Glencoe to test their skills against Hokes Bluff, Glencoe, Pleasant Valley, and Clay Central.

Facing the same gusty wind that the pros were facing at the Masters in Augusta the 18 hole battle was a difficult one, but the Warriors pulled out a third place finish with a team score of 355 while Brody McGatha had the lowest individual Warrior score with an 82.  The Clay Central Vols dominated with a team score of 330 and brought home a first place finish. The Glencoe Yellow Jackets came in second with a team score of 347. Hokes Bluff placed forth with a team score of 362 meanwhile Pleasant Valley rounded out the field in fifth with a team score 417.
