Cherokee Electric Co-op Provides Assistance in the Wake of Hurricane Matthew

Power Outage 5

On Sunday morning, the Cherokee Electric Co-operative sent relief aid to the Santee Cooper Electric Co-operative in South Carolina.

Cherokee Electric Co-op Manager Randall Wilkie told WEIS Radio News that a total of nine bucket trucks and 14 workers were sent to that storm stricken area – where around 50,000 electric customers were still without service in the wake of Hurricane Mathew.

Those local crews are expected to complete their work assignment and be back in Cherokee County by the weekend.
