Cherokee Electric Co op Crews Working to Restore Service / UPDATE Service Restored in Cherokee County

POSTED AT 6:30am

We’ve been informed by Sarah Bright with Cherokee Electric Co op that, at this point, they still have about 2,500 customers without power – most of those in Calhoun County.

The Goshen substation is down and will probably be offline until this afternoon, and there are scattered outages in the Sand Mountain area.  Bright says all service to the Jacksonville area will hopefully be restored within the next couple of hours.

If you’re a resident of Cherokee County and you’re still without power, you may want to call and make another report – Cherokee Electric Co op crews are currently working just as fast as possible to restore service to all affected areas.
