Cherokee Medical Center Recognized as “Top Performer” on Key Quality Measures

CMC 1Cherokee Medical Center has recently been recognized as a “Top Performer” on key quality measures.

That honor comes from the Joint Commission, the nation’s leading accreditor of health care organizations; only one-third of eligible hospitals across the U.S. achieve this distinction for attaining and sustaining excellence in certain clinical measures.

Terry Long, the Chief Executive Officer of Cherokee Medical Center said (quote) “Following evidence-based clinical protocols close to 100% of the time is not an easy goal to reach but one that has been achieved through the dedication of our physicians, nurses and other care –givers.” (end-quote)

“Top Performers” are recognized each year for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase the chances of healthy outcomes for those patients with certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, stroke, in-patient psychiatric services and immunizations.

Cherokee Medical Center Chief of Staff Brian Perry said the Joint Commission’s recognition of the hospitals efforts was very gratifying for the entire team.
