A chicken truck overturned early Saturday morning at the intersection of County Roads 19 & 59. County Road 59 was completely blocked while traffic was down to single lane on County Road 19. That mishap occurred at approximately 5: 00 a.m. and was finally cleaned up just before noon.
The driver of the big-rig let the trailer drop off into a ditch as he was making a turn onto 59 causing it to overturn. The chickens had to be offloaded onto another truck before the trailer could be up-righted and the roadway cleared.
The Mt. Weisner Fire Department, Alabama State Troopers and Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency were all on scene. No one was injured in the accident.
