Children’s Advocacy Center Set To Host Special Presentation “Current Trends In Social Media: What Every Parent Needs To Know”

The Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center will host a special presentation entitled “Current Trends In Social Media: What Every Parent Needs To Know” coming up on Monday, April 30 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Cherokee County Health & Rehab Activity Center.

The Internet holds tremendous potential for our nation’s youth; however, the misuse of the Internet to prey on them is a serious problem requiring action by legislators, families, communities, and law enforcement.

This presentation will be conducted by special agents with the State of Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). This presentation will help parents learn about the use and misuse of popular websites and apps that often lure children and adolescents into dangerous situations.

A presentation will be held at the Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center Activities Building and Sand Rock School.

For more information you can contact the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy at 256-927-2111.
