Citizens Get Educated About New Gun Law

gun bill class at DeKalb Theatre 034

The Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office recently held a class regarding Alabama’s new gun law at the Dekalb Theatre.

Commander Wade Hill presented the power point presentation of the law.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris says he and District Attorney Mike O’Dell answered a lot of great questions after the presentation and handed out information that included the power point of the gun law and the website www.sos.alabama.gov so people can look up the entire law.

The Dekalb Sheriff’s Office is going to continue these classes with the next one being September 5th at Ider High School in the lunch room starting at 6pm.

Classes will also be held on September 12th at Geraldine High School in the lunch room starting at 6pm, and September 19th at Dogtown Fire Department starting at 6pm.

Everyone is invited to attend these meetings to learn more about the law and to ask any questions that they may have, especially landowners, business owners and law enforcement are encouraged to attend.
