We have had reports from citizens of two Hispanic males in a Toyota SUV going door to door purporting to be U.S. Census takers from Texas.
The most recent incident occurred at a location just off of 411 between Centre and Leesburg.
The alert citizen spoke with a sheriff’s office deputy about the incident and was told that the individuals did not sound to be legit government census takers. The man that came to the door did not present an official US Census Bureau badge.
If you come in contact with these individuals you should ask them to allow you to see official identification, if you feel uncomfortable contact the local authorities.
