Class 2A, Region 6 football standings shaken up with Southeastern forfeits

It’s the time of year in high school football where playoff positioning is beginning to take shape, but things got a little more interesting in Class 2A, Region 6 this week.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association confirmed Southeastern has forfeited its first two games of the season against Ashville and Gaston for the use of an ineligible player.

The forfeits drop Southeastern’s overall record to 3-2 and 2-1 in Region 6. Gaston’s record improves to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the region.

As things stand right now in Region 6, Cleveland is atop the region at 3-0, followed by Sand Rock, Spring Garden and Southeastern – all at 2-1.

Westbrook Christian, West End and Gaston are all 1-2. Locust Fork is 0-3.

Cleveland hosts Southeastern, Sand Rock is at Locust Fork, Gaston is at Spring Garden, and Westbrook Christian is at West End tomorrow evening in Week 6 action.
