Coach Matthew Pharr Visits the WEIS Radio Morning Show to Discuss the CCHS Soccer Program

WEIS Radio recently welcomed to the studios, from Cherokee County High School, Matthew Pharr – who teaches Government, Economics, Sociology and AP U.S. Government & Politics; he also serves as the Head Coach for Wrestling and Boys and Girls Soccer – and the topic for discussion this particular day was the soccer program.

Morning Show host Jerry Baker began by asking Coach Pharr to describe the “typical” youth soccer player, and the answer was, simply put, there is no “blueprint”:

The soccer program, which has a 25 year plus history, is one that Coach Pharr would like to see continue to grow and improve.  He discussed the addition of two new staff members, an overview of the new season and the game schedule, and the importance of dedication, skills in problem solving and decision making learned through team sports – all attributes which will serve a young person well throughout their entire life.
