Colin Kaepernick to Start for San Francisco 49ers Again

Tom Szczerbowski/Getty Images(SANTA CLARA, Calif.) — Colin Kaepernick will start for the San Francisco 49ers for a second straight week.

Coach Chip Kelly confirmed Monday that Kaepernick would be the starting quarterback against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

“I think there’s some things that he did on Sunday that he can build upon,” Kelly said in a news conference. “For his first extended playing time since last year, I thought there were some real positives there that I think we can try to build with him and get him going. It gives us the best chance against Tampa Bay this week.”

Kaepernick has made headlines recently for sitting or kneeling during the national anthem in protest of racial inequality in the country. When he started for the Buffalo Bills last weekend, he was met with loud booing when he entered the field.
