Collinsville clobbers Asbury, 31-6

ALBERTVILLE – Collinsville junior quarterback Keaton DeBoard ran for three touchdowns and passed for another to the Panthers to a 31-6 Class 3A, Region 7 football win at Asbury on Friday.

DeBoard finished the game with 280 yards on 11 carries. He also threw for 42 yards and had two kick returns for 37 yards.

DeBoard got things going for the Panthers (3-5, 2-3) with a 40-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He connected on a 42-yard touchdown pass to Colton Wills 20 seconds into the second quarter to give Collinsville a 14-0 lead.

DeBoard scored two more times on the ground before halftime on runs 53 and two yards, providing the Panthers a 28-0 advantage.

Tristan Gallegos added a 31-yard field goal with 9:11 remaining in the game to push the Collinsville lead to 31-0.

The Rams (2-6, 1-4) prevented the shutout on a 30-yard Gavin Johnson-to-Dante Broussard touchdown pass with 35 seconds to go in the game.

Johnson passed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Jacob Garert led the Ram ground game with 66 yards on 14 carries.

Collinsville hosts Geraldine this Friday while Asbury hosts Fyffe.
