Collinsville girls hold off Hokes Bluff, 53-48

COLLINSVILLE – Sophie Wills tossed in 16 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and Rylee Tillery tallied 11 points, including three treys, to lead the Collinsville Lady Panthers past visiting Hokes Bluff 53-48 in area basketball action on Friday night.

Tyla Tatum added 10 points. Kayla Beene finished with eight points.

Halle Davenport sank five treys and finished with 15 points to lead Hokes Bluff. Kileigh Blackwell contributed 13 points. Kayla Traylor came away with nine points and Bailee Latronico finished with five points.

Collinsville held a 14-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 26-18 edge at halftime. Hokes Bluff surged out in front 37-35 at the end of the third quarter, but the Lady Panthers closed out the game on an 18-11 run.

In boys action, Hokes Bluff claimed a 64-54 win.

Harrison Millander led the Eagles with 25 points. Avron Nix added six points.

Alex Garcia topped Collinsville with a game-high 26 points. Dawson Cothran collected 14 points. Donovan Smith and Fernando Padilla finished with eight and seven points respectively.

Hokes Bluff led at each of the quarter breaks. The Eagles were out in front 17-12 at the end of the first quarter and built a 37-20 advantage at halftime. Hokes Bluff held a 51-37 edge after three quarters.
