A Collinsville man was arrested on drug charges by DeKalb County authorities on Tuesday.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris said his department had been receiving tips regarding drug activity at the location, and as a result, the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit, and members of the Collinsville Police Department were dispatched to the residence; however, while en route, they met the suspect on the highway near his home.

After 35 year old James Cory McDow pulled into his driveway he was approached by several law enforcement officers and a search by the Sheriff’s Office K-9 was conducted around the vehicle.  A search warrant was executed at McDow’s home, and officials found Marijuana Methamphetamine and pills.

He was subsequently charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and with  Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – along with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
