Collinsville Man Arrested On Drug & Theft Charges After Investigators Find Explosives In His Home

A Collinsville man is in the Cherokee County Detention Center on drug and theft charges after investigators found explosives in his home.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office 44-year-old Randy Dale Wright of Collinsville was booked into jail at 4:55 a.m. where her remains for three counts of the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree.

Two others are also facing charges after they showed up while officers were searching the home on County Road 6, 37-year-old Steven Ray Willingham of Attalla is facing reckless endangerment and attempting to elude charges. Meanwhile, 33-year-old Joe Michael Morris is facing possession of drug paraphernalia charges after the pair fled after driving up to the scene.

Officers discovered a trafficking weight of methamphetamine and bullet shells in Wright’s pocket. Investigators searched Wright’s home and found stolen guns, televisions, ATVs and explosive materials.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was called in to deal with the explosives.
