Collinsville Man Facing Multiple Charges

A Collinsville police officer was recently patrolling in the area of Creekside Plaza – when he noticed a bicycle leaning against a storage building at the rear of Don Chico’s restaurant.  The officer then observed a subject carrying a large object in his hands; the man managed to disappear but was quickly located again.  It was quickly determined that he had broken into the storage building and had stolen a large pack of frozen hamburger meat belonging to the restaurant.

Michael James Mills of 201 Alabama Avenue in Collinsville was arrested and charged with burglary 3rd degree and theft of property.  During questioning, Mills confessed to breaking into the same location back on August 10th – taking a large bag of Chicken Fingers and other items.  Mills also confessed to breaking into two vehicles at Southern Trio Vending, on West Main Street in Collinsville on August 12th.  He was charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd degree, two counts breaking/entering of a motor vehicle and one count Theft of Property.

Mills is being held in the DeKalb County Detention Center under a 37,500.00 Bond.
