Commissioner Marcie Foster Completes Graduate Courses and is Named to an ACCA Board

ACCA 3Cherokee County Commissioner Marcie Foster was recently honored by Chairman Kirk Day and other members of the County Commission with a reception recognizing her completion of some 120 additional hours of education, above and beyond what is required by the state

That program emphasizes budgeting, personnel matters and planning – as well as road and bridge responsibilities among other issues vital to those in leadership roles across the state

In a news release from the President of the Association of County Commissions of Alabama, Foster was praised for (quote) “…having gone above and beyond to make sure she has the knowledge needed to make decisions for the future of Cherokee County and is commended for making this investment that will enhance her public service.” (end-quote)

ACCA 2Commissioner Foster was also honored with an appointment to a prestigious ACCA Board, and she brought home additional good news in regard to cost-savings for the county, made possible through the efforts of dedicated county employees.

Cherokee County Commission meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of every month in the County Administration Building in Centre, and those meetings are open to the public.

The next meeting is set for Monday, September 8th starting at 10:00am.
