The issue of annexation of the Cherokee County Country Club once again came up during Tuesday’s Centre City Council meeting.
Resident Ed Allen Jr. addressed the council in favor of annexation.
Allen says the vast majority of the residents are in favor of coming in to the city.
Mayor Tony Wilkie responded.
Wilkie says a number of issues still need to be worked out, including what annexation will mean for the city’s ISO rating.
Another issue concerns police coverage for the area.
A committee was formed to look at all the pros and cons of annexing the country club.
Wilkie, council members Phillip Roberts and Frankie Kelley, along with Allen and Shane Givens will serve on that committee.
They are expected to report to the council during the next workshop on January the 28th.
