Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Across Alabama Closing in on 10,000; Cherokee County Has Had 22 Confirmed Cases

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases across the state is closing in on 10,000 – with the latest data from the ADPH COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard showing 9,889 cases – with 393 confirmed deaths resulting from the illness.

According to that latest Alabama Department of Public Health – 1,244 individuals have thus far been hospitalized, and the number tested stands at 128,506.

The ADPH also lists Cherokee County as having had a total of 22 confirmed cases out of 411 people being tested.

In surrounding counties confirmed cases are considerably higher than they are locally – but that goes hand-in-hand with a larger number of tests being conducted – however, Cherokee County still has a considerably lower percentage rate than those areas.

DeKalb County has had 147 positive results out of 1,499 tests administered there; while in Etowah County there are 182 confirmed cases following a total of 2,706 tests; and Calhoun County has 124 confirmed cases after a total of 2,270 people being tested.
