Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Statewide Now More than 11,000 / Almost 3,000 Confirmed in Last 14 Days

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases across the state has now topped 11,000 – and, as of Friday morning had reached 11,101 with 2,899 of those being confirmed over the last 14 days. The ADPH COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard lists 473 confirmed deaths resulting from the illness.

According to those latest Alabama Department of Public Health figures – 1,364 individuals have thus far been hospitalized, and the number tested stands at 144,422. The ADPH also lists Cherokee County as having had a total of 25 confirmed cases out of 460 people being tested.

In surrounding counties confirmed cases are considerably higher than they are locally – but that goes hand-in-hand with a larger number of tests being conducted – however, Cherokee County still has a considerably lower percentage rate than those areas.

DeKalb County has had 185 positive results out of 1,825 tests administered there; while in Etowah County there are 198 confirmed cases following a total of 3,051 tests; and Calhoun County has 128 confirmed cases after a total of 2,559 people being tested.
