Construction Of The New Ellisville Bridge Moving Along Well

Construction work continues on the new Ellisville Bridge project on Alabama Highway 9 South.

Having just begun construction in mid-May, contractor Wright Brothers Construction is still in early stages of this potentially two-year-long project, but it’s moving along well and contractors are optimistic about the timeline.

According to Seth Burkett, North Region Public Information Officer for the Alabama Department of Transportation, at this time there are no impacts to travel on Alabama 9 and no closures to any of the county roads intersecting Alabama 9 in the vicinity of the bridge, however motorists may encounter lane closures due to resurfacing on Alabama 9.

At later dates, traffic on some of those roads will be detoured for realignment or relocation of those intersections/roadways.

The contract amount on the project is $7,264,066.
