County Leaders Urge Citizens To Take Necessary Precautions

With the upcoming primary run-off election scheduled for Tuesday, the Cherokee County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security would like to remind voters of the importance of wearing a mask while inside your polling place.

WEARING A MASK TO VOTE IS NOT A REQUIREMENT, BUT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

This is not only to protect you, but to protect those around you.   Also, make sure you follow the six-foot social distancing requirement while at your polling place.

Cherokee County Probate Judge/Commision Chairman Tim Burgess reminds citizens that all precincts in Cherokee County are open. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The Cherokee County Commission is committed to the health and well-being of its employees and citizens. They are taking the appropriate and necessary steps to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus while continuing to provide services to the County. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to keeping our community healthy.

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases across the region over the past month, and in an attempt to reduce the spread of infection, we are strongly recommending for those who can conduct their county business online to do so. We want to keep everyone as safe as possible while continuing to provide the highest level of services. We also ask the public to wear a mask or face covering if you do have to visit any county facility in person to conduct business.
