County Road 22 near Scooter’s Country Store is currently closed due to an auto accident.
According to members of the McCords Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department, around 6:10 this (Wednesday) morning, an overturned camper trailer led to the closure of both lanes of traffic about a mile and a half from the Georgia state line, so motorists traveling in that area will be forced to take an alternate route.
The most convenient detour will likely be Highway 411 into Cave Spring.
No word yet on whether anyone was hurt in the mishap – we’ll have more information as it becomes available.
