COVID-19 Claims Life of 24 Year Old Assistant Coach at Shorter University

COVID-19 has claimed the life of an assistant men’s basketball coach in Floyd County, Georgia. 

Ryan Dupree, employed by Shorter University, died from pneumonia associated with the virus.

Dawn Tolbert with Shorter University issued the following statement:

“The Shorter University family was saddened to learn of the tragic death of Coach Ryan Dupree.  We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Our prayers are with them and the basketball team in this time of loss.”

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to support Dupree’s family with funeral expenses and any other expenses that may occur.
